H.E Mr. HOANG VAN LOI
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to the Republic of South Africa
accredited to the Republic of Namibia, the Republic of Zimbabwe, the Republic of Botswana, the Kingdom of Lesotho and the Kingdom of Eswatini
Ambassador Hoang Van Loi was born in 1963. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam in 1984.
H.E. Mr. Hoang Van Loi arrived in South Africa to begin his term of office in February 2020 and presented Letter of Credence to H.E. Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa,, on November 19, 2020.
From 2014 to 2019, he was Deputy Director General, Department of Emulation – Commendation and Diplomatic Tradition, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
From Nov. 2012 to Nov. 2014, he was Head of Division at the Office of the Ministry, and then at the Department of Emulation – Commendation and Diplomatic Tradition, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
From Feb. 2009 to Sept. 2012, he was Counsellor, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Viet Nam in Israel.
From 2004 to 2009, he was Desk officer and then Head of Division, Office of the Ministry, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Throughout his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hoang Van Loi has also served in various positions at the China Department, Cuba – Latin America Department, Protocol Department, South East Asia Department, Adhoc Group on Cambodia, Policy Planning Department as well as diplomatic missions to Canberra and Washington D.C.
Ambassador Hoang Van Loi graduated from the Institute of International Relations and earned a Master degree in International Relations at Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam in 2007.
Ambassador Hoang Van Loi is married to Mme. Luong Thi Thu Ha and has two children.
